So I’ve been thinking of adding more lifestyle and DIY posts to my blog. Tech is a huge part of my life but it isn’t my whole life, and I want to share my other interests or just post about my amazing and funny little boys. Or rant about my mommy brain, which drives me crazy but never fails to entertain my husband. I doubt my own writing often. I know I ramble and can really go off on a tangent. But it’s my style and I like it. With that said, I’m just going to start.
Our life is currently insane. My husband has been working as an engineer/contractor for the Navy for a year now and this is the summer for him to travel. He was in Wisconsin last week and in Baltimore yesterday. That leaves me with just the boys more often than not and while I love it, there are always moments where I wish I had my husband to back me up.
My youngest, Dean, is about to turn 2. Terrible Twos. With my oldest, I definitely think the Threes were worse. So I am VERY scared for Dean’s Threes and here’s why: 2 hours after Daddy got on a plane to Wisconsin and I was preparing dinner by myself and Dean decided sitting on my laptop keyboard (after turning it off, of course) on the side table in our living room while taking pictures off the wall one by one was a great idea. He had hidden both my phone and the fan/light remote beforehand, so I couldn’t entirely see the damage he had done. It took 30 minutes to find everything and put the room back in order. He’s a little trouble maker.
My oldest, Cole, is 4 and has more energy than all of us combined. Including our puppy. He’s a pro at his ABCs and has been learning to spell. He pops up already talking in the morning and mumbles in his sleep. He has decided to fight me on absolutely everything I say, even if he agrees with me. And he’s mommy’s little enforcer, tattling on his baby brother every time Dean climbs up in my spot when I get up and grabs my phone.
We have watched The LEGO Movie once a day for the last week and a half because we love it, because I like quiet boys at least 1 hour out of our day, and because Daddy wasn’t home to stop us. We’re looking for our next home and seriously considering every single run down farmhouse we find (we would DIY and totally blog about the whole experience…right?!). I have approximately 5 different jobs and 6 different email addresses and countless social media accounts. We are engineers, geeks, and Disney fanatics who have 2 little techies-in-training, the absolute loves of our lives. Welcome to the crazy.
